Some industry experts forecast that China will one day become the new Silicon Valley. Will China take over the world someday? Who knows. But one thing we know for sure is that the Asian giant is advancing at a very swift pace in many areas.
Business can’t afford to ignore China. This is one of the main reasons why we launched the ESADE China Europe Club in 2012.
At the helm of this initiative are Yang Lei, Managing Director of Cosco Iberia, ESADE Professor Ivana Casaburi and our ESADE Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics.
The Club’s recent Annual Forum brought together businesspeople, diplomats and experts to explore new synergies and the challenges ahead both for Chinese multinational companies settling in Europe and for European companies looking to expand their business in China.
The meeting provided interesting insights, including Chinese investors’ strong confidence in the European Union despite the crisis and the legislative obstacles and security issues that still need to be overcome in order to speed up business synergies.
One of the main goals of the Club is to create a bridge for Chinese companies doing businesses in Europe and to foster new economic opportunities. The network is growing fast and new multinational companies are joining the Club.
Initiatives like the ESADE China Europe Club could help to improve business relations between China and Europe. Overcoming obstacles is just a matter of time. The future is full of possibilities.
